I have been enjoying my time on the Benzie Maker Team this year so much. And when you enjoy something time seems to just fly by, doesn’t it? I have already created two more free patterns for Benzie since my last post!
In July, Benzie shared a bunch of holiday themed patterns, including my Winter Wishes Cardinal hoop pattern that uses ThermoWeb products to make completion a breeze.
I loved making this cardinal because it was so simple and quick to assemble. I was inspired to create this sweet abstracted symbol from a drawing my daughter did when she was 6. I loved her expressive use of shape in her drawing and that became the basis for the more refined geometric abstraction in the pattern itself.
In August, just in time for back to school, Benzie published my super sweet Felt Notebook Covers. These covers also featured the use of ThermoWeb products and, like the cardinal, were super easy to assemble as a result.
These soft covers are great for composition style books but the concept is so easy you could apply them to any size notebook. For this project, customization is key. What would you put on your notebook?
My next Benzie pattern will be released on November 20th, 2025, and I can’t wait to share my project with you. It is really special to me and is inspired by my mom, you will not want to miss it if you are a nature lover like we are.
