100 Day Stitch Book: Completed Project

The ultimate goal for me regarding the Ann Wood “100 Day Stitch Book” project was to stitch every day to the completion of 20 pages. This ends up equaling one page every 5 days, however, I stitch much faster than this. In the end, I stopped around 65 days in because I had completed my 20 pages.

The pages added up quickly and before I knew it I was running out of sketches and materials. I still had ideas but they were starting to migrate in new directions.

I debated doing more pages to continue with the 100 day goal but decided I was ready to step into a new project and call this one complete.

In the end I couldn’t bring myself to “hide” all of my panels in a book format and so I chose to go a different route. Instead I sewed my favorite 16 panels together into a wall hanging. I feel like this displays the amount of work I put into this project more effectively than a book that would be stuck in a drawer.

Now all that’s left is to bind it or turn the edges to make it more visually complete and then determine a way too hang it. I envision hanging it from a piece of driftwood.

All in all I found this project super fun and a good way to explore different concepts and techniques. I enjoyed having a daily project to work on throughout the process. The size was really manageable for more in-depth explorations without becoming overwhelming.

On to the next project! A quilt inspired and based on a pattern by the fabulous Heidi Parkes….
